WHEN THERE’S A WILSON, THERE’S A WAY
When Wilson’s off-Broadway show tanks, he hits rock bottom and decides to binge movies starring his role model Kirk Douglas. Suddenly, an accident hurls him and his TV through space-time where he swaps bodies with the REAL Kirk Douglas! It doesn’t take long for Wilson to fall in love with 1950’s Tinseltown, so he pledges to never return to the future — jeopardizing not only the fate of the Watchdogs, but also the fate of history.
NIGHT OF THE LIVING PARADOXES
After a freak power outage, criminals locked away in Paradox Prison are unleashed onto history and begin destroying the fabric of reality. To catch the uber baddies and save the universe from imploding in on itself, the team relies on Cooper to solve a series of abstract puzzles. Despite the increasing difficulty of the problems he has to conquer, Cooper believes this is nothing his genius dad couldn’t handle with ease. But after he fails a particularly silly puzzle, the crew becomes trapped in a reality where Earth is a molten planet. Cooper blames himself and admits to falling short of his dad’s legacy. It’s all hope is lost, until the scientist finds an inscription left by his dad. A message that reads: “There Is Only Now”. Cooper interprets this as meaning that there is no past and there is no future. There is only the present. This gives him an ingenious idea to to restore history by moving every particle in the universe to the exact location and energy state they were in before reality was destroyed. Life returns to normal and Cooper feels like his dad is proudly watching over him. So does this mean the past never happened? What’s the difference if everyone remembers the past as if it did happen? This trippy episode will be a mesmerizing blend of artistic style, suspense, and thought-provoking ridiculousness.
THE BUTTERFLY DEFECT
Ned’s personality firmware is finally upgraded — turning him into the robo-genius he was always designed to be. But his intelligence skyrockets to such insane levels that he can predict the outcome of events with 100% accuracy, including the behavior of every human on the planet. This leads Ned to believe that he is indeed a god, and naturally, he assembles a murderous cult in his name that construct a Temple of Ned. To stop the robot’s power trip, the Watchdogs must rethink everything they know about free will and causality. Ned starts building copies of himself. But none are quite right, driving the robot insane. He demands Cooper tell him how to build another Ned. Cooper admits that Ned is having problems cloning himself because the blueprint isn’t rooted in any logic or science. Cooper shows him the original N.E.D. designs: a crude drawing in crayon signed by none other than Cooper, aged 6. It is here, where we see a sweet flashback of kid Cooper, designing an imperfect robot, and vowing that one day he would build the machine.
A WATCHED DOG NEVER BOILS
A rebel time group led by a mad man calling himself Chronos hacks the Time Nexus. He sends henchmen to critical eras of history to assassinate world leaders. This way he hopes to destroy society and hit the reset button on time. The crew separate and commence simultaneous battles throughout iconic moments of history. Meanwhile, Zoe tracks down Chronos before he was Chronos. Back when he was just a pimple-faced teenager being rejected at prom. Unfortunately for Zoe, present-day Chronos planned on her being there, and he captures her. Zoe is taken to the exact moment she failed as a military commander. The place where her mistake led to the death of her platoon she so dearly loved. Chronos explains that time is their playground. They can choose any past, present, and future they want. He offers her the opportunity to fix her fatal mistake like it never happened. This way, she would never be kicked out of the military, lose her old squad, and have to join the Watchdogs. Given a moment to think about it, Zoe elects not to change the past. As much as she wants it, she realizes that changing the past makes the future certain. The future is suppose to be an unknown, because it is the unknown that gives birth to new ideas, new life, and new love. Through a clever use of a note Zoe left in the past, she uses future-past Zoe to help her defeat Chronos. Reality is returned to normal. Or is it? Zoe wakes up to find that the Watchdogs organization no longer exists! In this new timeline, Wilson is fat and depressed, Cooper is a recluse hermit, Ned is a stiff accountant, and Saturn is a hippie! To be continued next season…
